Announcement Following Posting

Further to the announcement made on 7 July 2005 of the proposed sale of Venture Production (Trinidad) Limited, the Related Party Circular, Notice of Extraordinary General Meeting ('the EGM') and Proxy Form were posted to shareholders on 13 September 2005. The EGM, seeking shareholder approval for the sale, is to be held on 4 October 2005.

The Company announces that copies of the circular have been sent to the UK Listing Authority and will shortly be available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document Viewing Facility, situated at:
