Venture Appoints New Non-Executive Director

Venture Production plc is pleased to announce that Alan Jones will be joining the Venture Board with effect from 28 April 2005. In addition, he will be a member of both the Audit and the Remuneration Committees.

Alan is an engineer with a first class honours degree from University College London. In his 30 year career with BP he has gained extensive technical and management experience, both internationally and in the North Sea. He has particularly strong experience in project management and operational management. He was responsible for managing the successful $6billion development of BP's Cuisiana and Cupiagua fields in Colombia. Alan retired from BP in 2000 after three years as regional President of BP in Scotland.

Alan's experience of the North Sea industry and regulatory framework includes having been a member of the government task force examining the future of the UK oil and gas industry and he recently lead the UKOOA team which restructured the industry trade association.

Commenting on the news, John Morgan, Chairman of Venture Production said:

Alan Jones has held no directorships within the last five years. There are no further disclosures to be made in relation to Mr Jones under paragraphs 6.F.2 (b)-(g) of the Listing Rules.
