Commercial Advisor

Working in the Commercial team as a Commercial Advisor on a full-time basis, you will act as a key focal point to develop and underpin the commercial activities of the business. Essential to this high profile role is an understanding and experience of commercial frameworks, negotiating agreements and managing joint venture issues and opportunities.

 

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified and have a proven commercial track record, preferably gained from working within an operator environment. You will have the ability to manage the whole spectrum of commercial activities and will have excellent interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Accounts Payables Assistant

Working within the Finance team as an Accounts Payables Assistant on a full-time basis, your primary responsibilities will include receiving and processing invoices; meeting the agreed payment terms, maintaining good external and internal relationships and ensuring we adhere to the purchase to payment process. You will also be responsible for the following tasks:

 

Daily Tasks

 

·          Sort and scan mail

·          Input invoices into the system, match to purchase orders, check coding is accurate and send out for approval

·          Deal with internal and external queries

·          Set up/amend vendor accounts

·          Ensure invoices are returned to Accounts Payables in a timely manner

 

Weekly Tasks

 

·          Run payment run remittances

·          Filing

·          Employee expenses payment run

 

You will demonstrate good communication and people skills, be a keen learner and have the ability to work unsupervised. The ideal candidate will have experience within a similar role and preferably have Sun and Q&A/Vision experience.

Assistant Corporate Accountant

Working within the Finance team as an Assistant Corporate Accountant on a full-time basis, your primary objective will be to provide support to the Financial Reporting Accountants in the operation of the corporate accounting function. You will also be responsible for the following tasks:

 

·          G&A reporting – preparation of monthly analysis, review of categorisation of costs, preparation of budgets

·          Intercompany – monthly analysis of balances and coordinating the correction of any imbalances

·          Internal controls – preparation and coordination of balance sheet reconciliations and coordination of monthly control file

·          Corporate accounting – analysis and coding of corporate costs including professional &  legal fees, insurance and other

·          Month end reporting – calculation and booking of monthly corporate adjustments

·          Other corporate tasks as required

 

You will demonstrate good communication skills, basic accounting competencies and be a keen learner. The ideal candidate will have, or will be working towards, an accounting degree and have experience within a similar role

Legal Advisor

 

Working in the Commercial department as a Legal Advisor on a full-time basis, your main responsibilities are to provide legal support to the Asset, Commercial and Project teams, deliver legal solutions to business challenges and provide general legal council. You will also be responsible for the following duties:-

 

·          Providing legal/commercial solutions to Venture’s project portfolio

·          Draft and negotiate legal agreements with third parties

·          Act as a key interface with third parties (e.g. other operators, legal firms etc)

 

The ideal candidate will be have a law degree and will have a demonstrable track record of delivering legal support and innovative business solutions, preferably within an operator environment. You will have good interpersonal and problem solving skills and have the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.

Corporate Finance Manager

Reporting to the Finance Director, this new post will work in partnership with the business to support Venture’s next phase of growth and value creation. Working closely with the Asset teams to provide leadership to the investment appraisal and scenario planning activities, you will also provide group corporate finance support and help to optimise value creation through insightful analysis. You will also be responsible for the following duties:-

·          Providing support to the corporate financing activities of the group, from the business modelling to fund raising

·          Support the optimisation of value creation through insightful analysis

·          Ad hoc financial support (cost of capital, dividend policy etc).

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified, preferably with a chartered accountancy qualification and a background in corporate finance, with a demonstrable track record which evidences excellent analytical skills, a high intellectual ability, commercial acumen, client focus, personal drive, strong influencing skills and sound judgement.

Senior Geologists
(Aberdeen & Hoofddorp, Netherlands)

Working as a Senior Geologist on a full-time basis, this role is ideal for a senior level geologist who wants a more challenging and diverse position and to make a significant contribution to multi-disciplinary Asset teams. The key objective for this role is the provision of geological expertise, ranging from reservoir characterisation of producing fields to defining exploration prospects. It will also include the evaluation of new business opportunities. Your duties will include:

·          Constructing and updating 3D static reservoir models

·          Calculating reserves for fields and prospects

·          Assessing sub-surface risk for opportunities

·          Preparing well paths for drilling programmes in partnership with geophysicists and drilling and reservoir engineers

·          Operational involvement in drilling wells

·          Assist in preparation of appraisal and development programmes

·          Interdisciplinary project team working

·          Working with partners and other related parties

·          Mentoring staff

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified to MSc standard in Petroleum Geology/Geosciences or related discipline. Previous North Sea experience would be preferred for this role and applicants should be confident in working on technically rigorous evaluations.

Senior Geophysicists

Working as a Senior Geophysicist on a full-time basis, you will be responsible for providing geophysical expertise to Venture’s Asset teams, including seismic interpretation and mapping of producing fields and exploration prospects. Drawing on your experience you will also formulate and execute agreed technical programmes for each asset and develop well proposals, communicating and selling ideas to management and partners. Your duties will include:

·          Preparing well paths for drilling programmes in partnership with geologists and drilling and reservoir engineers

·          Seismic acquisition and processing projects

·          Assessing sub-surface risk for opportunities

·          Assist in preparation of appraisal and development programmes

·          Mentoring staff

You will be a strong team player, independent thinker and ideally qualified to MSc standard in Petroleum Geology/Geosciences or related discipline

Senior Reservoir Engineers
(Aberdeen & Hoofddorp, Netherlands)

Working as a Senior Reservoir Engineer on a full-time basis, you will be tasked with providing reservoir engineering expertise to Venture’s Asset Subsurface teams, including reservoir stimulation modelling, production forecasting and decline curve, well test and economic analysis. In addition to the technical elements, you will also be expected to assist in budget preparation and business opportunity evaluations and will be a key link to the Operations team. Your duties will include:

·          Actively monitoring production and injection performance on existing fields to maximising recovery from these fields

·          Performing reservoir simulation studies as required and generating production forecasts

·          Supporting new field development planning

·          Operational involvement in drilling wells including testing

·          Assist in preparation of appraisal and development programmes

·          Interdisciplinary project team working

·          Working with partners and other related parties

·          Mentoring staff

The ideal candidate will be a team player who can communicate effectively at all levels and work autonomously. You need to have a good relevant first degree preferably with an MSc in Petroleum Engineering, together with in-depth reservoir engineering and operations experience.
